Very entertaining and wonderful. We had a great time here, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining for us. I would recommend this place for anyone stay or traveling through Thunder Bay. For on added bonus travel first to Grand Portage and visit the monument / fort there. It is the Fort that predates this one, very interesting.

Had a great couple of hours here. The guided tour is really informative and the guides in character add to the whole experience and having traveled from England we were treated as if we were senior officials in the NWC, Because we were visiting out of season some exhibits and activities weren't open but what we saw gave a great insight into the history of the original trading post. I will definitely come back in the summer months to see the rest.

A great full day adventure where you get to step back in time to 1816 with the North West Trading Company. More of a experience adventure than a museum as actors/staff roam the buildings in costume and all spoke about the same common theme and date in time. Well done. My two teenagers who have some Canadian history were able to dig deep and learn alot about First Nations contact and Trading. Highly recommended along with the David Thompson Observatory on site

This is a really fun spot to spend a couple of hours. The kids who work here are crazy talented; many of them are bilingual, musical actors. It reminds me quite a bit of other historical forts I've visited. Bring lunch and eat at a picnic table near the canteen or on the grass; buy fresh bread! Seriously, buy the fresh bread. It's so delicious.

So much fun! Even the younger kids enjoyed it! The gun battle is always a highlight but the dancing and the farm animals were popular with the kids too. Some of the staff are exceptionally dynamic and go out of their way to interest the children in the history of the Fort. We've eaten at the restaurant twice though and haven't been overly impressed with the service either time. Once there was a bus tour ahead of us who were served buffet style. Even though their group was done eating when we arrived it took a very long time for staff to acknowledge us and even longer to take and prepare our order. The second time our waiter was quick and pleasant but the girl clearing tables thought our kids were making too much noise and asked them to stop. There was only one other table occupied at the time and it was another family whose kid had a stick he repeatedly banged off the floor! Otherwise we've always enjoyed our experience at the Fort!
