What an experience, family style dining with impeccable dishes! The food was prepared and brought to our table to be shared, the dishes had great variety and were perfectly seasoned. They offered cold dishes, hot dishes, side dishes, and dessert- all of which were delicious. I can't wait to go back!
I have loved Tomlin since it first opened. It is always my first choice for all special occasions such as birthdays and get togethers. Ive ordered from their menu, eaten many taster sample menus, and been there for holiday prix fix menus. The staff is always incredible and the chefs are extremely accommodating to dietary requests (even with multiple different restrictions at the same table!). My only issue Ive ever had is I will never go back for another prix fix holiday menu as the 3 I have attended have all been massive disappointments (food was below mediocre). With how incredible the food is every time I come on a regular night, I think Ill just avoid these prix fix nights and simply devour the sample taster menus (which have impressed me every single time I come).
A restaurant who's menu is always changing with the seasons, Tomlin is a gourmet dining experience for the avid foodie or diner looking for a premium experience. The wait staff were quick, courteous, kind, and knowledgeable about everything on the menu (believe me I asked about everything).The only reason this review doesn't have five stars is because the back dining room was too dimly lit for me to see my meal properly.
Atmosphere was amazing.Service was amazing.Food and pair of flavours also amazing. The Server made it enjoyable and personable with every coarse with full discription on how the food was prepared. Everything local and made in house made this restaurant a 5 star for me. Highly recommend to anyone living in Thunder Bay or just visiting.
The menu changes often, so take my review lightly. I didn't quite enjoy my meal enough to justify the cost, and the sizing wasn't exactly what was expected from a "shareable" dish. Don't get me wrong, it was still quite good. But definitely not to my taste. Maybe next time I go the menu will be better suited to my taste
