Wow! Bistro One is amazing. The service is impeccable, friendly, and witty. Our server made us feel right at home, had great knowledge of the menu, was able to offer recommendations, and went out of her way to find the answer to our question about the cognac we had selected. She really made us feel special. And the food was absolutely amazing. Nestled in an industrial setting Bistro One does not look like much from the outside but don't let that fool you. Once you go through the door you are transported into a luxurious upscale restaurant where you can relax and enjoy a truly fine meal.
Great atmosphere. It was like stepping into a completely different atmosphere with lovely service. The appetizer wasn't all that, a bit too sweet (we had the scallop). Entrees were excellent -duck and lamb. I would have liked the duck with a bit less sauce and the lamb without the cheese, but overall they were great. It would have been nice to have warm bread and softer butter too. However, there was this creamy garlic spread that was garlic in its skin but spreadable, which was for the bread. Don't know how it was made but it was genius and oh so lovely. Overall, I would eat here again.
My wife and I visit Thunder Bay every year to visit family. We always try a new restaurant while visiting. This may have been our favorite one yet. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Our server was fantastic too. Great experience highly recommend it.
We didnt make a reservation and they still quickly accommodated my family and I. Staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They accommodated our child, the chef made our child a meal that wasnt on the menu. The food was delicious beyond measure. Exceptional quality while the atmosphere was relaxed. Id give 10 stars!
Brittany was a fantastic waitress and ambassador. Dinner was lovely. Appetizers and main dishes were full of flavour.
