Called to get an appointment as my cockatiel had a sore and was suffering. I was told they'd call me with an appointment as the vet Dr. Durfy had to say which pets she would see first. I explained the area affected was larger than a toonie. Two days later they left a message with an appointment 10 days from now. I called them and said he wouldn't make it that long. I then emailed pictures of the sore. The secretary said she won't diagnosis from a picture. I said I was hoping if she sees how bad it is she would see him sooner. Three days and they haven't even bothered to call me back. They obviously don't care. No compassion for a suffering animal! It's not just a bird he's been part of our family for over 10 years. He sings jingle bells chants for hockey talks and is smarter than alot of people! I am thoroughly discussed with high view animal clinic and would NEVER recommend them to anyone who loves their pets. They are heartless no matter how busy Dr. durfy may be since she's the only vet who sees birds she should at least take the time to communicate with you when an animal is suffering!!! So as far as we're concerned there is no proper vet for birds in thunder Bay. Take them out of town to see a vet who cares!

Dr. Tallon and Dr Durfy are both so great with our cats. They are caring and take the time to build a rapport. If I put the carrier out, the cats jump right in. They know they get to go visit their buddies at Highview.

I have dealt with Highview Animal Clinic for many years with various pets. This time, the receptionist would not let me speak with the Vet. I could not even leave a message for the vet to contact me. I was put on hold three times during a 10 min conversation. Being put on hold seems to be a regular practice for them. Hence I have changed vets.

i had used Highview for 19 years combined for 2 of my dogs, this past summer my 9 year old shitzu got massive lumps in her neck and then she couldnt breathe I phoned them and told them and they said we can fit you in in 3 weeks I took her to northwestern for an emergency and she was diagnosed with lymphoma they drained her lumps and she was able to breathe, she died this past November peacefully at home, but I immediately had her records transferred to northwestern. Now I have a new puppy and I use Northwestern. Ill tell everyone I can to stay away from Highview, when it is a life threatening emergency they dont care at all. Its odd I had to go somewhere where my dog was never a patient to get medical care.

Lady was so rude on the phone. Not taking new clclients. Dont even bother calling,

Professional and friendly staff. Discreet when needed. Good location. Excellence in service.
