Super nice vet (at least the one that we saw). They were very accommodating since we came from out of town. And they were very thorough in their exam. The surgery was efficient and caring. I would definitely recommend them
Thunder Bay Veterinary Hospital is the best place for anyone's pet to visit. The veterinarians and staff are incredible. We went through a real tough time with our dog, taking him for numerous visits due to a medical complication, which in the end after a tough battle, we decided to put him to sleep. Again, the staff was unbelievable. The compassion they showed us and to our dog was unheard of from any other veterinary hospital we've ever experienced in the past. You're not just a "number", but part of their hospital family. Our thanks to everyone at TBVH for your patience and direction with always having our best interests at hand. Thank you!
The best thing about this Hospital is the compassion they have for animals/family. My son's dog Roxy was dying and in so much pain from breast cancer, having to put her to sleep was the hardest thing for us to do as it was the last link to him, he died 7 yrs ago in a collision with his gf and their baby.. I will never forget the compassion Dr Bruce had not only for our dog but for my family.. I have 2 of her puppies and they will be going to see Dr Bruce for now on.. Dr. Sanzo is the best vet in Thunder Bay, hands down! He is knowledgeable, young, in tune and caring. Treats your pet like his own. A+
The only place I could bring my exotic pets. This led to the death of my hedgehog and nearly the death of my snake from the veterinarian's lack of knowledge. I brought my hedgehog in with a bite on her leg she had caused that was getting infected, she said just give her a bath and she will be fine... A month later she had to be put down after multiple vet appointments where I pointed out this was more serious than a small infection. A few months later I noticed my snake had symptoms of a respiratory infection and brought him here. The vet would not even take him out of the carrying case to look at him or listen to his breathing. She barely looked at him at all even after I offered to hold him and his head. She refused to treat him for RI even though it was obvious and when she finally agreed she wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount. The medication was worth 150$ but she wanted to charge me for everything under the sun that wasn't even necessary. After my experience here it is safe to say I will never bring a pet of mine to this office again and will have more luck treating them myself.
