This hotel is outdated and rundown. The showers were filthy, there was a dog that would not stop barking from 10 p.m. to midnight. The ice machine leaked water all over the hallway. I do NOT recommend you stay here if youre traveling.
The overflowing garbage can outside should have been a warning. Our room stunk, (not sure what the smell was but it was nasty) but that abated when I opened the window. The on/off switches for the lights above the bed were snapped off, so they didnt work. The carpets were disgustingly dirty with puddle stains on them. Probably pet friendly room. Not sure the sheets were clean but slept with my clothes on. The upside, the bathroom and towels looked clean and the fridge was bigger than expected and the freezer froze our freezer packs for our cooler. I never write reviews but give you fair warning.
My sister and I stayed here on our way to Saskatchewan on Oct 1. After a long 16hrs in the car, we were happy to have arrive to a clean room (smelled a little like smoke in my opinion but my sister didn't notice), a fantastic front desk manager, a wonderfully heated pool, and a comfy bed. Great price for what we got, as well. Would definitely stay here again on my way through Thunder Bay.
Our stay was fine, the young guy at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Our room was big and the pool was great. Breakfast was good too. They need some maintenance for things like chipping paint and the carpets could use a deep clean, in our room there were places it smelled like urine. Overall though it was a good stay.
We are travellers and we checked in after a long drive. The service was okay. The breakfast was okay (means no eggs or omelets) the rooms that were next to our room (down the hallway) smoked pot in "no smoking" room.and the smell took over the whole floor. Its really important to check those things. Besides that the king bed was comfy and he extra sofa (that can be a bed too) was comfortable too.
