We were very impressed with our stay here! The rooms were very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. We were offered our choice of room location, and ended up close to the pool, the breakfast room, and a parking lot exit near our car, which was very convenient. We found it very quiet at this hotel - we had problems with sleeping at other hotels due to hearing doors slamming and conversations down the hall, but did not experience that here. We also really loved the shower here - the shower head allows you to be completely covered with water and it was very easy to achieve a perfect temperature, something that has also been a problem at other hotels. Finally, the complimentary breakfast was wonderful. Lots of variety, and the best scrambled eggs I've ever had - and I don't normally like scrambled eggs very much! I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Thunder Bay, and we will be returning.
Great hotel, very clean and staff always professional. The breakfast is nothing spectacular, but I look forward to it every single time I stay there. There's something about those scrambled egg bites that keep pulling me back for more. Rooms always clean, wifi always working. A+
Holiday Inn Express are always my favourite hotels. The staff makes you feel like part of their family as soon as you arrive and even remembered our names every time they saw us on the way in or out. Even the cleaning and maintenance staff we so friendly and gave us tips on restaurants to try close by. The pool area was nice and clean as were the new rooms. I loved it here, wish it wasnt so far from home so I could come back often.
Normal holiday inn express. Stopped there on the drive to eastern Ontario. Good location close to HWY. Clean rooms. Decent pool and hot tub - very relaxing after a long drive from Winnipeg.
Immediately pleasantly surprised by the courtesy and knowledge of the front desk upon check in. It may have only been because the hotel wasn't busy at the time but I was able to ask for a room close to the entrance/exit where my vehicle was parked and also facing the pool. The room ended up being ten steps from the parking spot but I soon realized all exits were in convenient locations to reduce the distance travelled with luggage. Pool and hot tub were extremely well looked after and cleanliness was as good as can be asked for. Didn't make use of the exercise room but it was adjacent to the hot tub and pool which made it more tempting. Bedding linens were high quality and extremely clean and comfortable. Mattress was more comfortable than mine at home and I wanted to sleep in it forever. Other patrons were polite and courteous at this hotel and I didn't hear them at all moving about the halls through the night as I have in other hotels in the past. Shower and bathtub in the bathroom. Bathtub just seemed to be more relaxing to sit and soak in than I expected and shower head was both relaxing and very efficient. I found it very easy to find that perfect water temp as well. Breakfast was hot and delicious with great variety. Many people at once in the dining area but still very clean and quiet in there. Over all the visit was great for someone who wants simple but calm, quiet, and relaxing. Got a bit of the spa experience while I was there. Price was only slightly above the cheaper hotels in Thunder Bay but I would highly suggest paying the couple bucks more and getting this treatment!
