Made a reservation on Booking.com the day before we were supposed to arrive which stated no credit card to book, pay at the property. We were driving for a long time on our road trip and were a couple hours away and they message me on the booking.com app to say they gave our room away because we didnt provide a credit card number and a time when we were going to arrive. We called them saying booking.com had our reservation still confirmed and we were a couple hours away and they said they gave our room away because people book and then not show up. We said booking.com didnt need a credit card to reserve as it was stated and they said thats not our policy its no such thing. They also went back and forth saying there was/wasnt a room available for us. We asked them why they didnt call us and they said no information was provided. I am an avid booking.com user and Im sure my whole profile with my contact info was provided to them for the reservation. Thankfully booking.com was super helpful and refunded me the extra cost for the hotel I had to stay at which was not what I budgeted for on our road trip. Would not recommend. Super unprofessional business.
The rooms are clean but dated. The beds are comfortable. No air conditioning, but they did give us a fan to use. The price was good.
Basic, clean, inexpensive hotel. Wifi but few other accoutrements. Parking by your door.
I called first to see if any pet friendly rooms available. The owner was rude. I thought it was just me maybe. But when we got there after my husband went in, he said something similar. Usually we are given a bed with 2 doubles but the man wouldn't give us that option as he didn't want the animals on the bed he said and warned us our cat better not spray. Anyway didn't charge a deposit just charged extra for the pets. It was a tiny room. Fridge had thermostat knob taken away and no plug for the bath. I spose he doesn't want to pay for the water. Hairs in the bed And bathroom that weren't ours. And bed was a double not a queen. My back was a little sore the next morning there was such a dip in the bed. It was old. Anyway owner was in much better mood the next morning.
Great place to stay in Thunder Bay. The owner is very nice and helpful. He assisted us on some good restaurants and guided on how to get to tourist attraction like the sleeping giant. The rooms are nice and clean and quiet at night. We would recommend Kingsway Inn for anyone to stay. They always have fresh coffee made in the morning, along with daily newspapers to read. The cleaning staff were really nice and an amazing job with our room. We will definitely be back soon.
